Epiderma 5 Chemical Skin Peel

A 40% medically graded Glycolic Acid Chemical Skin Peel which will improve the condition and texture of all skin types, except the very sensitive. A Glycolic Acid Peel is used to remove the outermost layer of the skin. The aim of the treatment is to create 'controlled injury' to the skin. This controlled injury creates a healing response to the skin which encourages collagen and elastin production, which is what makes the skin firm and smooth. The additional benefit of the skin peels it creates an exfoliating effect on the skin, which will leave the younger and fresher looking layers of the skin below.

As well as exfoliating the surface of the skin and facial rejunavation making the skin appear fresher and younger the 40% glycolic peel will also treat specific skin concerns.

Is it the right treatment for me?

A Glycolic Chemical Skin Peel suits almost all skin types apart from the very sensitive and if you currently have any active acne.

How much downtime is there?

The Epidermal 5 Glycolic Acid Peel is a revolutionary new peel and has very little downtime as there is no actual peeling after of the skin. There is slight erythema / redness after the treatment which normally subsides by the following day. The treatment also includes an intensive repair mask and LED light treatment which helps reduce any erythema as well as encouraging new collagen production.

Is there anything I need to be careful of after the treatment?

As with all facial treatments avoid any steam, chlorine and excess heat. Make up should not be applied for 24 hours and you should definitely avoid any high levels of sun exposure so it is advised to have a skin peel treatment at least 2 weeks before any holidays. You should always wear a minimum factor 40 SPF after a skin peel.
